Hi guys

I just bought another betta about thirty minutes ago, and now I'm posting this XD

I was wondering what tail type he has.

I'll be amazed if he's an HS, thoe I doubt it.

If he's a veil he has the most finnage I've ever seen :eek:

Anyway, here are some pictures of the big buff brute betta. (nice alliteration :D)

Here he looks like a veil...

But what about now? :blink:

He's a VT but looks to have been crossed with CT which has created the combtail on him. He's a lovely bright colour. :D

btw......that cup is temporary isn't it?

Hes actually in a vase, but yes its temporary. I was arguing with my dad at the LFS to just buy the 2 1/2 gallon and take it home, but he said "its too much work, we'll get it tomarrow"

So yes, the vase is for one to two days only.

But I got my first live plant :D

lol bargain

He has got lovely full fins and reminds me of some babies we had a while ago that were PK x CT. The boys ended up with fins very much like your boy's :D

Thanks XD

Holy crap that store is cheap.

Two and a half gallon for 12.99 o_O

He is doing pretty good now, and he seems to be having a contest with Burton, my CT XD

Also, A question about Burton..

He has some discoloration at the base of his large pectoral fin, and he doesn't move around much.

And I know it couldn't be old age because I got him only a couple months ago.

That is a really good price :good:

Have you got a pic of Burton. The pectoral fins are the small ones either side by the gills. Are they the ones you mean?

Oops.

Okay Mac = FAIL AT TRYING TO BE SMART

Um.. no I meant the large fin on his stomach.

The large fin under the stomach is the anal fin lol not to worry....it takes awhile to suss them all out.

A pic would be a great help if you can get one :good:

Sometimes fish bought from shops are alot older than they make out, so he could be older than you think.

What temp is his water? as having it too cold can cause them to be lethargic and weakens the immune system.

Is he still eating well?

Are there any signs of fungus in that area?

Your in luck!

I do have two recent pictures of him on hand..

And these were taken about.. two days ago?

Your probably thinking "oh.. he better not be in a vase!"

Well he was, but now hes in a bigger tank. I think its a 2gal?

Anyway, me and my dad are buying a 5gal, then a divider. It comes with a light, filter..
Female betta are going in my community tank. Petsmart had two halfmoon females for $4. we're getting it possibly tomarrow, then the 2 1/2 gal tomorrow as well possibly, again with a divider. So then the tanks will be this :

Temporary Vases are holding :
Aquarius, Samurai, Berlin Star

Small Tank is holding :
Mavi

~~~~~~
2 1/2 gal :
Divided tank will be holding Aquarius and Berlin Star
5gal w/ divider :
Holding Mavi + Burton
2gal will hold Samurai
I'll buy a filter for the two tanks, two heaters
Samurai has never used a heater.. I'm just going to put him back in his old tank. Give it a good wash, wash the stones, bag them, store them, and use marbles and glass stones instead.
Well I can't see anything out of the ordinary on him. Just keep a close eye on him and maybe soak some of his pellets in garlic juice as this can help boost their immune systems.
I would also advise to use heaters with all of them. They really should have a constant temp of 26/27c to keep them healthy and active. Also a 2 1/2 gal wouldn't be big enough to divide for two so if you can get another that would be better for them :good:
