"No one is a failure unless you try"
I've only got two, a male and a female. The female will be a bit bigger, around 5'. They are not very large when you consider body mass though, very long and thin, so you can keep an adult in a 20g long easily. I'm planning on a pretty large setup for the pair when they are biggerwow, thats fairly big how many others do you have and how much room do they need each.
I have an evil parrotlet, he's SO much worse than these guys!!! Birds scare me a lot worse than snakes, honestly; those beaks are sharp! Vakasa and Bekele, their fangs are small, it's like getting a pinprick... Petri, the parrotlet, can take a plug out of you! I've never been bitten by a snake, though I did come close with Vakasa.... the house snakes are a lovely species and not inclined to bite AT ALL... except when restrained behind the head, that is. I had to hold Vakasa once while she was getting a shot at the vet (she had a respiratory infection), and she almost got me. Bekele didn't even try to bite his breeder when the guy sexed him for me, but that's because he was being restrained around the middle.I can't understand how people keep snakes...my pet cockatiel scares me when I have it on me I can't imagine a snake.... But they are lovely snakes...and love the kind of dark humour in this post...
If only! They will be very impressive at adult size though, so I am excited about that too.Very cute snakies, be even cuter if they stayed that mini
I don't mean to be callous, but it was already dead. It had been in a freezer for God only knows how long, hard as a brick, before I thawed it in warm water and plopped its lifeless corpse in the tank. It suffered greatly at my hand, as you might imagine. Were I feeding live I would have included a warning, but forgive me for assuming that nobody could possibly find this offensive enough to complain.I didn't see the other thread and many ppl post topics with more then one type of animal in it. But please a warning next time. I am not trying to be a troll or anything but beign a rodent lover it was hurtful.
Jesus, I hope you never have to handle raw meat.
I'm a rodent lover too. I have owned many a rodent. Rats, in particular, make fantastic pets. However, snakes are also amazing animals, and they gotta eat.
Frankly, this is an issue that has been on my mind as of late thanks to the goings-on in another forum, and I am really, really tired of censoring the smallest of things just so those of us who are inclined to faint while walking through the meat section of the supermarket don't get offended. It's not my fault that you are as sensitive as you are, and it is not my responsibility to protect you from what the majority find inoffensive. YOU are accountable. The rules of this forum do not explicitly state that I should attach a warning to such images, and being that this is the general pet section of this fine forum, you should expect to see some snakes occasionally, and they just might be eating. I refuse to walk on eggshells over crap like this -- sometimes you have to step up and be responsible for your own well-being and peace of mind instead of expecting everyone else to bend over backwards to make you comfortable.
I'm a nice gal. Were these pictures of a snake eating a LIVE mouse, I'd have posted a warning. They're not. I couldn't have guessed anyone would find them "hurtful", as you put it. I even added that they were snakes to the thread title after your first post, but you came back to the thread, despite the offensive pictures, to labor the issue, so this is my honest reply.
....Don't any of you dare ask me again.
