Hello, I've just got a second hand fish tank. It's a Interpet fish pod 64L. I've emptied it and cleaned it.

Planning on getting:
  • Interpet Aquatic Heater - 100W Deltatherm Heater
  • Fluval u2
  • Thermometer
  • Test Kit
  • Logs, gravel, fake plants

The main question I have is what kind of lights do I need. It came with a 'Cool Blue Moon' on the left and 'Bright Day White' on the right but want to change it so it has two of the same bulbs. I wanted to know what I should go for. I could get 2 of the bright day white lights but that's about £20 so wanted to know if I could get normal lights from Amazon. Can anyone recommend me any. Thanks for any help

Light doesn't really matter as plastic plants don't require it.

So can I use any CFL bulb such as this one:

The reason I ask is because the originals were longer and 14W each. But only one of those were meant to be on at a time whereas I will be putting both on so didn't want it to be too bright.

Is there a special colour or watts that will make the tank look better?

you have to get the same bulb model as what your hoodlight requires.  you cant just screw a house lightbulb into it.
one thing i noticed is if you go into the lighting section of your retail store you might find something very comparable to an expensive hoodlight for half the price.

i did that recently and got something that i like even better than my hoodlight that caught fire.  another thing is it takes the expensive bulbs from the petstore OR, the cheaper ones at the retail store!

Sorry but i'm not too sure what you mean. Are you saying to go with the original ones that came with the tank?
