So, I recently bought three guppies.
On the day after, Tiger, the orange guppy, died from the Pet Store lady taking him out in a stressful way. This is a known fact.
Then a couple days later, Onyx, my Cobra Guppy, died from getting stuck in the plant in my tank. Seemed I had very bad luck.
I went back to the Pet Store and they let me get another guppy because of what happened with Tiger. I got Beenie, and he is a yellow guppy. I also have Legend, who is a Lyretail Guppy.

They are supposed to be my guppies and live in my five gallon tank. I am hoping to get another friend for them, but not now. I tested my water and it is completely, 100% okay. I have two oto's in the five gallon, Rocky and Stiggy, and they went through the ammonia and nitrite and nitrate changes. I heard they are fragile fish, but I guess I got lucky and got two strong guys!

Anyways, while my tank was becoming 'safe', I had my guppies in the 10 gallon. They were both happy. After my water changed and became healthy, I put Beenie and Legend back inside the five gallon. Legend was totally fine with it, but for some reason Beenie would just go up and down one side of the tank. I don't want them to die, after Onyx and Tiger died, so I put them back in the 10 gallon to be safe. I don't know why Beenie is upset but Legend is fine. Help?

It could be that your fish is just learning where everything is in the new tank, if all it's doing is swimming up and down the glass (and not showing any other symptoms); that's quite common for fish in new tanks. Or, if you just have the two male guppies, it could be that one is picking on the other one and the weaker one is trying to get away.

Can you post the numbers from your tests, just so we can rule out any potential problems that might be going on there? Is your water hard or soft?

The numbers are 0 for ammonia, 0 for nitrite, 30 for nitrate, and 6.6 for PH.

Also, sometimes Legend will.. show off for Beenie. He will splay out his fins in front of him and then circle him and try to 'kiss' him. Isn't that usually mating rituals? I know that they are both boys, and I know this for a fact.
So why is he doing this? He did it to Onyx, before he died, as well. I don't know if that might be stressing out Beenie or not.

Males display no matter what, that is normal.

Also, I find my new guppies will often hide or do strange things (assuming water stats are normal) when they don't yet know what might be in the tank to harm them, ie predators. Usually, they come out after 1-2 days and act like everyone else.

I would be a bit more suspicious though, with other recent fish deaths.

A few days ago I picked up a few females for my very pretty male guppy. In a few hours, one was dead. Next day, another died. Luckily, the last one is still alive and is also my male's favorite. I think that most pet stores in general have weak fish. However, it seems like your Beenie (adorable name, btw) will be absolutely fine. Remember to post some pics! :fish:

I bought home a Saffron Molly, Mila, to my community tank and she swam up and down in the corners and along the glass for a few hours, and she's okay. There's nothing wrong with her.

I guess that maybe they're just exploring their new, bigger enviroment. Remember they've come from a fish shop with lots of their own kind in their small tank, I'm guessing their curious.

Okay. Then I will put Beenie and Legend back inside the tank.

And thanks about Legend displaying for Beenie. I'm glad it's nothing unusual.

I have a few pictures, they all have Onyx in them though. I haven't taken any pictures since Onyx died.

There is one of Onyx and Beenie. It's the only one with Beenie where you can see his full tail.

There is Onyx, Beenie, and Legend. I'm not very talented at taking pictures of fish, it's really hard. ^^

Yes, I know. I was very upset when both him and Tiger died. Tiger looked amazing too!

Onyx has a *very* curved spine in those pictures, could it be some disease? I've never seen anything like it

Eep, I know! I don't know what it was. He was HUGE as well, maybe.. he just grew to much, or maybe it's just a deformation. ^_^ Either way, he was a great fish :D
