Not trying to start a fight but I have only been a member for a few days and I am very supprised at the number of female members!!!
Is it just that they dont mind asking the questions?
Do us boys get a little worried about looking stupid?
In all the local stores lady staff are well outnumbered by men.
All the women I have spoken to about my fish look at me like I am mad.

Please take the time to vote as I am quite interested to see female to male ratio.

I'm definitely female, even though I keep fish!! I have noticed that in lots of aquarium shops there are usually more men than women both staff and customers, but my two lfs are a husband and wife team and a mother and son team. Perhaps men and women are attracted to fishkeeping for different reasons. I like it because its creative (aquascaping, choosing the balance of fish etc), like any pet keeping or plant/garden tending it gives you a chance to nurture something, it makes a welcome change from work and when all the mucking around (water changes, new plants etc.) is over for the time being its relaxing just to watch the fish.
Can't wait to get the buckets out tomorrow for a water change and a general tidy up.
