I just read that Canada will be banning the sale of glowfish, did anyone else hear this? :dunno:

I haven't heard anything yet but i sure hope they have the guts to do it. Canadian politics right now is very pro business so i have my doubts unless it becomes an election issue on some scale. We are probably going to have an election this summer.

Research is still being done as to whether they are a threat on the environment.
Weren't they specifically bred to help the environment?

why do they care sooo much i dont see how they could be any more harmful then the origanals but it should be looked into i geuss. some ppl on that articl were saying they dont like that there geneticaly alterd but goldfish are too thats all that they are. and they are aloud in canada and would not only surive but strive in basicaly all fresh cold waters, they would do huge damage to our aquatic plant life as well seeing that they are plant eaters only and eat non stop. so y sre they making a huge deal outt thoughs fish and not others? i loke goldfish they are my fave i have a goldie tank. there are so many fish that would surive in canadians waters the dojo loach would, wite cloud(spelling?) minnows...basicaly any fresh water cold waterd semi hardy fish.
