will my common pleco eat bananas ? if not wat else could it eat ?

They'll turn black if left in there long enough but if left overnight and removed first thing the next morning then they'll be fine. Just remove the skin and any stringy bits, slice in half down the middle and give it a try.

he didnt toutch the chunk over night so i removed it. will it take him a while to realize its food ?

Quite probably, it often takesn then a few goes for them to realise what it is. Having said that plecs have preferences just like people, while one persons panaque might love sliced potato another may never touch it. Try different things and see what he prefers....

I'd never heard of feeding banana before - I'd tried all the usual green veg options - so I gave it a go last night.
My two plecs weren't that keen (fussy buggers!) but, strangely enough, once they'd rasped off a few chunks from the edges my corys were having a good nosh up!

As the saying goes -
"There's nowt as queer as fish"
- old Yorkshire wives tale (or should that be wives tail??)
