Thats a relief i have lotf of good places ,my tank is pretty lush but no wood since i hve gupoies

guppies, someone told me they dont like softwater
the only wood im planning to add is manzanita, since no tannins

There are woods that don't affect your water much. And if your water is hard enough/KH is high enough, the wood can't do much to make your water softer. I have wood and organics like almond leaves in my guppy tanks, but even when the tank is so full of tanins that it looks like a blackwater tank, the 253ppm GH and 15 KH means it doesn't shift, especially with frequent water changes.

@Essjay can explain better, especially if you know your GH and KH.
