i was wondering wat should i feed my ballas i hav 5 in a 55 gallon & i also wanted 2 kno wat eles should i put in with them or if i should jus get more ballas

Hi. I think for food you can feed them whatever you like. Flakes etc. or any of the other common food types. I think what other people are going to say when they read your post is that a 55 gallon tank is way too small for even 1 Bala Shark. I would imagine that they are still small in size now, but as far as i know they get very big as adults. 15" or so from what i have read. If/when they get that big, they won't even be able to turn around in that size tank. In the future you may have to return some, or give them away, or get a bigger tank. So as long as you're aware of this then until that time comes i would just feed them whatever food you have/like.

well i kno they get big but i rember my parents haveing them in our tank when i was a little kid & we had 3 in like a 20 gal tank along wih other fish & i think it takes yearrrrrrrrrrrs 4 them 2 get that big . im not tryin 2 school any 1 but from jus what i heard

The reason it took so long is because they were stunted in growth because of the small tank size,
please re home them

A bala shark should grow to at least 5" in the first year and up to around 8" by the second. After that the growth will slow down.

a 55 gallon is just plainly nowhere near adequate for 1 bala, let alone 5. They are a fast swimming skittish fish that really need a 6ft length. Their adult size demands a fair width so the best minimum is 6 x 1.5 x 1.5. Anything less than that just isn't fair on the fish.
