While I was cleaning out my tank the other night I was trying not to be to heavy and not fdreak out my bala shark. I got a bit close and he jumped clean out of the tank, landed on the microwave, flipped onto the work top and before I could get him he flipped on to the floor.

I managed to get him and pop him back in, when I did understandebly he looked kind of like this   .

then he straightened himself out.

do you think he will be ok after that.

yeh i think he will be but not for long as you are keeping a fish that gets a couple feet long that needs over 200gals of water in a 10 gal!

no mean to rage.hope i didnt be offensive,he will be okay,BUT MOVE HIM!

DD

Yeah, he'll be right, i hope. One of my harleguins got too inquisitive (and i wasnt paying enough attention) when i was doin a water change....and he got sucked up and thrown into the bucket...but he is still rockin out!

actually they grow to 13 inches not a couple of feet.

he is only small at the moment so I have plenty of time.

 ALRIGHT!!!

What can you say...
My reply might involve:

- Not plenty of time as they grow quickly
- Risk of stunting is high
- Need to be in a group
- Jumping is no surprise from above

- Don't ask for info unless you are prepared to hear it or change your profile to explain

Well said, as usual. It's good to have you back CS :D

here,

i am prepared to listen to peoples infromation, when I ask for it.

But I am not prepared to listen to folk who think they know my circumstances.

I am on my way to getting a new tank, money doesn't grow on trees.

and he is very small still I have had him for a while.

I know they need loads of room but at the moment there isn't much else.

what can I say....... :dunno:

You wont see the stunting either....as what will happen is there body will not grow....and as they grow fast there organs and other internals will continue to grow....now you should work out what happens then  very very painful might i add....think about it

so his internals grow but his body doesn't?

sh!t.

I didn't know that.

On the original question, he should be fine.

When I moved mine into their 6 foot tank the largest jumped out the tank and straight down the back of my tank. Cue 10 minutes of rushing draining the tank and lifting it out of the way.

I had to push him forward and back to kind of "bump start" him but after 10 mins he was fine and 2 months down the line he's still going strong and eating like a pig :D

 no way, bet that was nail biting stuff man.

Next time wait for bigger tank. One reason I like this forum people dont hold thier tounge.

If too sensitive for that.......

It always suprises me when people say they bought a fish they know was not appropiate, then say they have time to get new tank. Why not just wait til you have right tank then purchase. There are no shortages of fish that can go into a 10 gallon
