Bae's Planted Tank Journal Aka The Rockpool

But if you are using pressurised CO2 and getting the levels up to the right levels then also adding liquid carbon is surely a waste of time.

Plants prefer dissolved CO2 to liquid carbon, and will use that over the liquid stuff first, so if your drop checkers showing the right levels of CO2, and not going back to blue until after your lights have gone off then it would suggest that the plants will never use the liquid carbon, at least that my understanding it may be totally wrong.

you cant get the CO2 up to the right levels with the aerosol stuff, you squirt some into a diffuser and X amount is diffused, without a drop checker your asking for it IMO, but these systems normally cause unstable CO2, thus promoting algae, thats why i would use liquid carbon instead

Ahh OK, I misunderstood what type of CO2 he was using me thinks, Still don't really understand but if it's not a fully pressurised system then you should probably ignore everything I've said

no its canned co2 so should i just forget about the co2 and only use liquid carbon

his tank loks quite large, liquid carbon is going to be a costly long term effort. i would DIY a fire extinguisher and do it that way. Plus not all plants like liquid carbon, they seem to prefer co2 in the gas form.
HC
Vallis
Mosses
P.helferi
and most stems do prefer non liquid co2, thats not saying you cant get results from them, its just the adjustment time and growth speeds are better.

the tanks only 2 ft and i may do proper co2 but then wouldnt i need to upgrade my lighting

is fe fire extinguisher

as i only have like 40-50 to spend on co2

couldnt find the fe thread

i think i may go fe co2

but i thought id have to upgrade my lights

however in my understanding i could keep the same lights and just dose less and all i need iss
