Simba was being bad yesterday :sly: .
He ate the rubber ring thingy that is supposed to be screwed onto my blender. I had pulled it apart to wash and it was drying and apparently he went through my clean dishes and grabbed it and ate it. He seems to have a knack for rubber -_- .
When he was really little we use to let him play with rubber bands because we didn't know they were bad for him. He ate one in the morning and threw up all over the living room  . We've kept him away from rubber things until now.
I didn't see him eat it but I can't find it anywhere so I gave him a laxative yesterday and he threw up a little after that. So far he seems to be able to keep things down and go to the bathroom.
The vet told me to just monitor him to see if he's eating and drinking fine and going to the litter box and so far he's ok. If he does get worse then I'll take him in. He has a dental tomorrow but of course if he's sick he wont go. I'll just take him to work with me on wednesday to do x-rays.

I hope he is OK

My dog has a habit of eating things he shouldn't. Like cat litter and the contents of cat litter (if you know what I mean)...which once made him so sick he had to have an injection to stop vomiting. And rubberbands, and anything which can fit in his mouth -_-

Was just curious as to how simba is doing now.
The things animals choose to eat never fails to suprise me!
My ginger tom Taggart is just crazy about lemonade. He used to drink from your glass when you weren't looking!

Anyway I hope Simba didn't suffer any ill effects from his bad choice of snack!

He's fine now. He had only thrown up once. I found a piece of the snack too.
He went to the vet for the dental and I asked if it would be safe for him to go through with it because of what he had ate. They said he would and then I picked him up later. Other than how drugged up he was, he was fine. They said his blood work had come out fine and so was his urine. So I'm very happy he came out of it.
I have to watch him more closely when I let him run around the house though. He's like a puppy...he eats anything.
Thanks for asking about him though :)

Glad to hear he suffered no ill effects :)

I think cats in general have some facination with rubber, as my cat is forever trying to eat my elastic hairbands  and I have to keep them in my drawer or else he will happily sit there chewing on them ! He's always on the prowl for a stray hairband
