I finished my grade 12 way back in 1970 and then did a 4 year diploma in Environmental control.... (basically to do with all sorts of pollutions, which include air, water, noise, illumination, ergonomics, and various other things affecting occupational diseases and health)...... and then I sat back and thought my learning days are over.....

Because of my age and parrallel decline in physical fitness and abilities, I was recently taken off physical field work (doing audits and taking samples etc.) and given an office exclusive job where I only do future planning, drawing up maps and plans for as far ahead as 2080...... and for this..... I need to work on computer programmes like Vuma (simulation programme) microstations and CADs.....

So, (at my age)..... I currently find myself back in class with kids where the average age is around 22/23....... Having been out of it for so long, it really stretches my concentration and studying capacities to the limit..... Having to do homework till late every night..... Not a routine to adapt to overnight...... (exams are at the end of February 2012)...

Take heart my Dad is older than you and doing a Harved Degree, but lucky for him it's all external and he can do a lot of it in work time. I also knew a 90+ year old man that prior to his last stroke was extremely interested in computers and the internet and was getting very good at using both.

Its better to still be learning than to assume you know all there is to know, good luck with your studies and who knows maybe you'll be able to teach the younger generation a thing or two  .

You are still a young man Ludwig. I am now 64 years old. I finished my formal schooling in 1965 but as recently as last week I was educating myself on a new subject. This time it was everything I needed to know to successfully install a VoIP in my home, but these topics come up all the time. I have found it necessary study up on many new topics every year of my life.

Learning is living.
