Just found a baby snail about the sice of 1mm on the side glass!

Do I remove or leave?

I'm going to do an English no-no and reply to your question with another question: (I'm off the hook!) do you want snails? I have a dozen or so trumpet snails and a red ramshorn which do a good job of keeping my tank clean. I suppose it depends on what type it is!

I am in two minds about taking the wee one out...

I just searched through the forums and found that they can help keep the tank clean which is ideal in a way.. just need to have some form of borth control in place! which is why I may introduce a clown loach to help with this? good idea?

The same thing happened in my 15gl cycling tank over the w/end. I have 4 of them at 1mm with translucent shells. I suppose they must have been snail eggs in my Bogwood.

remove asap.

Really? What's the danger - being overrun with them?

yep, overrun is one way to describe it.....
it really depends on what species of snail you have, whether they are pest snails or apple snails etc., but if they just appeared out of nowhere, it's a fair bet they are pest snails, and you will end up with ten thousand million of them eventually. There are a couple of threads around here with tips on removing them, such as putting a piece of romaine lettuce in the tank overnight, then removing (covered with snails) and disposing in the morning.
all the best, merry.

I'd best remove them then! Thanks for the help.
