Because I saw my snails doing that. And I'm waiting for eggs !

yep, overrun is one way to describe it.....
it really depends on what species of snail you have, whether they are pest snails or apple snails etc., but if they just appeared out of nowhere, it's a fair bet they are pest snails, and you will end up with ten thousand million of them eventually. There are a couple of threads around here with tips on removing them, such as putting a piece of romaine lettuce in the tank overnight, then removing (covered with snails) and disposing in the morning.

I have a couple of Mystery snails and they do a great clean up job. Are mystery snails classed as a pest snail?

They must also be hardy critters; mine are bathing in Ammonia at 6ppm...

Mine did too, and are just fine.

I don't mind the snails, I just take out a bunch when I do water changes.

no, mystery snails aren't pests. I have a couple too, and i really like them.
