so just got back from spring break to see that all 14 of my guppy fry are alive and well :)

i just seperated them males from females as i want to do some selective breeding and i could see the gravid spots...i was wondering though, how long before they are full grown? they were four weeks old as of yesterday

i heard it was 2 to 3 months.. though i'm not a hundred percent sure.

Well im pretty sure i sexed them correctly..i could clearly see gravid spots on the females and the males are substantially larger than the females with more color on their tails. I hope im right cause i dont want babies yet! haha

You may still find that a few males develop in the female tank. Some are later bloomers than others. They will be sexually capable in about another month or even less, but for selective breeding you will need to wait a while for the colors to develop and show you what you really have to work with.

Yea you might still have males in the female tank. I had three babies that all looked alike and had gravid spots. In the 2nd month found out real quick that one was actually male (Ringo) and he still is a big boy.

Good luck on your fry. I love to see what colors they come out to be.

well so far the males are showing black and yellow..i feel like they might be snakeskin...their mother's brother was but the mom was just yellow.
