Er...you probably won't agree with what I'm about to say, but rest assured, I'm not saying it for shock value, especially after I read your pinned message about betta breeding.
After about two days after spawning, I take the male out, and remove any eggs that haven't hatched. Usually I have about 50 fry swimming below the nest, and around the tank. After a couple more days, I remove some more of the fry, which must seem exceedingly harsh to everyone, but I simply don't have enough room for more than 20 fish when they grow up, and I believe in quality over quantity, which I think can be achieved if there are fewer fish to concentrate on. I think there are about 15-20 in the tank at the moment.
As for wuv's question, the dad is a bluish green veiltail, as I can guess from your tail variety pinned post, and the mum is a pretty standard dark blue female.
