 So, I just bred my favorite girlie, named Kaylie, she's a black hooded. And her babies should be here around.... -ponders... counts- May 3rd :)

Does anyone that lives in or near Washington want one of the babies? I have two that already have homes, and the rest will go to my (very knowledgable) Petstore.

Awww. I am most definetly a rat person :D Its cool that there are other rat people on here.

Were they pet store rats, if I may ask? I sure hope the babes dont have to go to the petstore, unless they dont sell feeders?

Good luck with the babes. Its so exiting :hyper:

Yes they are both PetStore rats but before you flip out  , we have an unusual pet store, they get their rats from a girl whose father is a breeder, but the girl works there. It's really cool. And no they dont sell feeders. But our petstore is wonderful so I'm not really worried if they go there.

Aww Im sorry. I didnt mean to sound judgmental. I just know that there are so many people who will buy rats from unknown lines and breed them, and it bugs me :p

thats awesome that you have such a nice little pet store. All the ones around me could care less about the poor little guys.

Good luck with the babies. So thats what, a month we have to wait before pics? :hyper:

Oooo, I wish I was closer. I've been talking to my hubbby for the past month about having 2 or 3 rats. Anyways, congrats!

Are you in Washington UK or washington USA ?We have just lost a rattie in surgery to a massive growth that grew in a few days  and are looking to replace him

Graham I know of a place where you can find a decent breeder, one that only breeds healthchecked rats, not petshop ones with no history and god knows what genetic problems (sounds like that would be a good idea for you).

They have a forum on there, although most decent breeders won't sell only rats unless they have company waiting of a similar age.

I'm very sorry for your loss - we have recently lost a couple of our oldies. they just don't live long enough do they? :(

as i have already said to you thanks a lot and we are looking for 2 anyway :D

:/ I would LOVE to get a rat. I have wanted one for about 5+ years now...but I'm living with my mom and she says no animals what so ever. "Especially rats!" I fell in love with this hairless rat my senior year of high school. The rat was being used in the Psyc classes. The teacher said I could take her home at the end of the year if I wanted her so I made this huge PowerPoint presentation about rats to try and talk my mom into letting me keep her... it didn't work. :-(
