hi I live in australia and some of the fish that you are mentioning I have never heard of

Hi Toni99, as you can probably gather, I,m in oz too. Most of the fish species on this site I find we have, sometimes they've got a different common name though. Which species did you not know? PS: Who are you going for in the final tommorrow, Com,on the PIES!

:D hi Toni99

not in Australia am in New Zealand - Northland - we only have 3 smaller LFS with a fairly limited selection. We occasionally get something a bit different which is how I got my chocolate gouramis. There are a lot of fish mentioned here that I've only ever seen in the books.

One of the things I've found with the fishes locally that the LFS's don't know their proper name esp with pleco's and catfish - so sometimes you're guessing what you are getting esp with how big they will grow!!!

makes it all rather exciting at times

Hi Caz, I think your,e right, we,re about 9 hours ahead of england (in Perth). As far as the weather goes, its been wet and windy for weeks. Not very good drinking weather :p Hopefully it wont be too long before we start getting 30-40c days again. I love summer, all the chickee babes wearing their bikinis and the sunday sesh at the beach pubs rock. Hey Kossy, do you go for an AFL team?

I don't live in Australia....but I would like to. Does that count? :p

Well it's spring now and its cold/hot...at the moment in adeaide its hotttt :X

hi there,
i spent my schoolyears & a lot of my adult life in perth wa, but am currently living in london. i dream of driving my car to work (no tube, no standing on platforms waiting waiting for the non arrival of the district line) i dream of popping down to the beach after work (instead of popping down to the murky thames to feed the ducks) i dream of a bloody freezing day being about 12C (unlike here where a bloody cold day is a bloody cold day - 0C)
never mind - we hope to return some day in the not too distant future but then the dilemma will be ..........oh no we cant leave without our fish!!!! :)
ps : perth is 7 hours ahead of uk in uk summertime & 8 hrs wintertime.
pps aquamanis - ive found that folk here drink FAR more beer than anyone in oz i ever came across ever did!!!! pints are much bigger than the sad old small middy.

Hey there, I`m from Melbourne, Aus. Dunno what city you`re living in, but I`ve seen everything here except pirhanas and snakeheads.
I think these are considered a threat to natives if they get into the local waters, so fisheries won`t let them in. (right???) Anyway, can`tfind the buggers anywhere! Got a red devil instead, he`s twice as cool anyway.
Keep drinking,
Nick

Yes I just found out its kinda illegal to have piranahs in australia due to possiblity of them going in the murray :X
