All you have to do to be as popular as the betta forum is start posting more pointless threads about the silly things your fish do every day.... or maybe only we betta people like reading things like that

The betta forum is the best section of TFF. Who doesn't respect BettaMomma immensely for all the work she's done to better the lives of probably thousands of fish--not just bettas, but all fish. She makes dozens of calls every month complaining about mistreated fish, and she even calls to complain on behalf of members of this forum who don't feel comfortable doing it themselves. She's also nursed many bettas that were near death when she got them and had been living in heinous conditions back to health, and she's given anyone who's posted in the betta section helpful advice. Plus there are dozens of other wonderful forum members who concentrate on the betta section. But I like cichlids too. (I actually do like them, and good luck to you all with fishkeeping!)

I like cichlids as much as you do but I think the betta forum has more comeraderie and is more friendly and valuable all around.

lol I will be working on an ariticle about pike cichlids in my free time( which is about 1 hour per day) lol but eventually I will get around to it.

as for the fighting, now now people, #1 anything insulting the betta section WAS and IS a joke, ment for laughs, so before you all ( betta lovers) get your panties in a bind take it at face value.

to get this thread back on track guys way to go keep brainstorming ideas for articles.

if ya african lovers have ideas for pinned topics on the husbandry of your fish as well go ahead and post them and let me know about it via PM.

Surely someone can do an article on the proper care of oscars. Not having ever kept one I can't but they are such popular fish that someone must be able to help those poor soals who get a 12 gallon tank for their birthday and want 'one of those nice little ocar fish they have at the lfs'.

I second that, whilst theres a pinned topic for appistos and smaller more common cichlids we need one for adequate care for larger new world cichlids such as oscars, discus etc. Pike cichlids get bought so often as small little cute fish and turn into apparent 10inch monsters but if only people knew about them they could care for them!

If we have one pinned topic on oscars and really large cichlids and then one on other cichlids like jaguars, sevs, pikes, possibly even firemouths...

Keep it going juan, we need more pinned topics!

Unfortunatly I have a ton of books on cichlids but no personal experience with anything other than rams, and theres already a posted topic about em'

Like many have said, there needs to be more info on large aggressive cichilds to discourage impulsive buying....tank sizes, tank mates...feeding..."will eat your heater..." etc.
