Attempt At Breeding

there was none the next day...

i did give up after a while because i bought some BN's and they came with gravel...and some pond snails which turned into thousands of ponds snails daily  i didnt think the corys would breed with them in there but turned out they have!

i got about 50 eggs altogether...about 7 went white and now the rest have hatched or are hatching :hyper:

i counted 31 babies so far...im so pleased :fun:

now here comes the hardest part lol

I would probably lay of the methlane blue next time too as it kills filter bacterial.

hummmmmmmm, it said it is harmless to bacteria etc. but i hadn't put any in this time anyway.
just water and fish eggs = plenty of baby fish =)

im just wondering how many are gonna make it past the next couple of weeks...

i want to carry on doing water changes (of a pint a day) but i don't want to harm the babies.
i was thinking instead of getting fresh tap water, maybe replace a pint of water with water from my bigger tank.
what are your thoughts?

Nah its bad news as a med and can cause a tank to start a cycle all over. IME its not even particularly effective as killing fungus on eggs anyway. Best avoided and just provide good water circulation near the eggs.

yea, thats what ive done and ive got the best results yet! :hyper:
i will never use methylene blue again lol

they've all hatched now, so i shall be taking the shells out soon. i feel there may be some dead ones on the bottom, but i will check properly later on after work.
ive some how missed 2 trumpet snails so i was thinking, maybe they would eat the dead fry...dya reckon this would this actually happen?

pink.

right! a second batch (Batch B) had a arrived as soon as the last batch (Batch A) hatched. all the fry from the batch A have died.
Batch B showed 21 eggs...not the best so far but ALL hatched over 36 hours.
then, they started dying.
until this morning, i was left with 12 babies...now i have 8 (i think).

i am assuming that the fish are dying of malnutrition or something. i tried the whole microworm thing but it didn't culture properly for some reason. somehow, i managed to mess it up lol so i think im gonna buy some more as soon as the next batch of eggs are laid.
all the fry are currently hidden under a smooth stone that i place in my raising tank. i assume this is a natural technique of survival but how do i get them to eat??
i cant exactly put some food under there as it may rot and kill the fish.
ive been crumbling up bloodworm pellets into dust, holding it between my finger tips and placing it under water.
im just scared that the fry won't come out from underneith their rock. should i remove it??

pink.

i never fed mine micro worms or anything like that
mine were fed on dust fry food ---- of spirulina , bloodworm , brineshrimp and algae
also crushed meal worms and RED ASTAX CRUMB fry food 2-3 times a day same as i feed all my baby fish
