it's no good having any type of young arowana, there all going to get to the same size.

what was the species you saw?

I just thought that if he was serious about getting one a 7" or 8" fish would give plenty of time to upgrade to a bigger tank.

And they were labelled as Osteoglossum Bicirrhosum.

if you invest in a asian one they dont grow as large and you could put it in your 6ft but first of all what fish you got in there?

not everyone can or wants atleast a 8ft tank in there house. they would be the silver arowana.

Point taken, it just depends how seriously you want the bigger fish I suppose. To be honest I would love an 8' tank but cant fit one in the house, if I did manage it I still dont think I would have just a couple of big fish in I like my mixed community tanks to much.
