ive just seen my first one and i know want one ive got a 6,2,2" tank and i am wondering what is needed for them what can i kep with them and also are they breedeble

It depends on which species of arowana you want to keep, a 6x2x2 is the bare minimum for a Asian (illegal in the US) or Australian arowana but silver arowana's which are the most commonly seen and cheapest ones will need a tank that is around 10 to 12 feet long and at least 3 feet wide when they are full grown. To breed arowana's you need a even bigger tank or a pond, they are not sociable to their own kind and so need a lot of space to get used to each other.

Hi.... I' ve got an Australian pearl Arowana..the 6ft x 2ft x 2ft if fine for the kind i have ...but no way for a silver Arowana. They need good water and regular water changes (25% twice a week) tank needs to be kept real clean. Best not put much decor in tank as these can easily hurt themselves on bog wood etc....most popular tank mate I have heard to be in tank with an Arowana are Tin Foil Barbs but research this as when ur Arowana grows who know what they might fancy eating. I feed mine mussels, prawns, crickets etc . Before you buy yaself an Arowana research all about it first because as i learnt u never know everything lol gud luck let me know if you got one. !
