Arowana Tank Dimensions?

I don't know much about keeping arowanas but I love looking at them And I know we can get Asians in this country where as most (all?) of Americans can't. Gorgeous colours and from what I've heard pretty moderately aggressive. I know if I had one they'd be the type I'd want.

Yup, Americans are out of luck when it comes to Asian Arowana.
Asians are cheaper here in Asia too, but My personal preference is South American for their sheer size!

Always wanted an arrowana, quite fancy African arowana but theyre hard to get hold of. Asians are good but think id rather save up and get a larger tank then get a silver or a black if i can get my hands on one!

I have a 10" silver in my cichlid tank and it's really a gentle giant. At feeding time he keeps out the way till the cichlids have scranned their pellets & treats then when it's calmed down he will eat.
There are even a few fish as small as 1" in there and Archie isn't the least bit interested in them.

Heh, maybe I should start to think about getting him a tank of his own.
Definitely no need yet though.

What size do you think silvers will start to get a bit crabby?

I think thats just about enough time...... Archie is 14-16" now and I just turned round in time to see im swallowing a tankmate whole !
