My tank is doing great except for one niggling little thing...the nudis are back. They must have been there hiding out until there was enough food. The pattern of events has been...
- invert only, not enough nutrients for the macro algae
- added a fish, macro growing well now
- added a couple detritivore inverts
- Nudi explosion in the last 5 days
- pH 8.2, sg 1.024, temp 78F, ammonia & nitrite 0, nitrates between 0-5 but usually 0
There are some other small black/gray worms that increased in population just before the nudis went nuts. I had identified the nudis before as either sponge or nem eaters, so I'm really confused...I thought they all died off. I have seen no more sponges than the norm, and I'm not seeing the sponges get killed off either. No nems. I'd like to just leave the nudis be since they are so small it would be a pain to try to do much about them. It's what I did the last time, and they dissappeared. Is this new nudi thing leading up to a bad event, or will the populations of worms/nudis/etc. manage themselves eventually based on food supply?
