Are They Safe?

Hi guys. Sorry for asking something already asked!

The last few days i have been making up some caves out of pvc pipes and terracotta saucers.

I have finished them now and they look GREAT far better than i expected!

However the only pvc i could find (and the only stuff i have)says on the bottom that is PVC-u?

What does this mean? and is it 100% safe?

Also what can i use (specifically from UK) to keep my terracotta saucers together?
I have gone with the idea of two saucers on top of each other with a archway in each one the same size. But i am worried (as they are small) that fish may knock them off eachother.
What can i use and how would keeping them together affect cleaning them?

not sure about the pvc, but you can use aquarium silicon to stick bits and bobs together

As far as I know the PVC pipe is fine. Also, gel superglue is aquarium safe so you could use that - not sure how good it'd be on ceramic though!

Thanks i am still unsure about the pvc stuff. I know that normal PVC is fine but what does the u mean after it? :

What silicone sealant from B&Q is 100% safe? Could you send me a link?
Have you used it yourself?

i think pvcu is safe from the info on that site =] give it a try?
i think its safe its Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride if PVC is safe i doubt that a missing ingredient would make it unsafe.

I've seen a few people with PVC pipes in there tanks, not sure how safe it is mind. Was planning on doing it myself too

think how biodegradable plastic is ... not very... i think you'll be fine to use it =]. after all.. you dont hear of your gutters eroding?... and there made out of uPVC

I have fish in the tank and dont want them to be poisoned!

its plastic id say its safe personally... you get plastic plants?

personally id use it if i were you... i dont see how it can effect the fish.. but then i might be wrong... your filters made out of plastic. not sure if its the same type...

i think spray bars might be PVC

what more do you want answering? ... the pvc is safe im 95% sure its going to be fine in your tank
use super glue or 100% silicon to glue the stuff down... why are you going to clean them?
