giant danios
zebra danios
fancy guppies
dwarf gouramis
sunset platys
corys
blue rams
clown loaches
cherry barbs

say if i had all of these species in the right amounts in one tank....would they all get along.....(saying enough hiding places, big enough tank and the tank being planted)

I have these in my tank, and they get on fine. Not sure about the rest!

fancy guppies
dwarf gouramis
clown loaches

i don't know enough to say if they will but i will offer you some advice. i would stay away from any dwarf gourami. they are really prone to disease just take a look through the gourami section.

I personally wouldn't put the danios in with male fancy guppies. It's not that they wouldn't get on, it's just that the guppies aren't particularly good swimmers when their tails have fully developed, whereas the danios are extremely active, not to say boisterous!

I have danios in with female guppies at the moment - but the boys are in a separate tank. :D

Just a warning, but clown loaches get to be 1 foot, 12 inches, long. That's needs to be a big tank. ;)

Most would agree that minimum is a 55 gallon tank to keep clown loaches in. That being said, loach "guru's" would agrue that even a 55 gallon tank is too small. One thing to remember with clown loaches though is that once they reach 4 - 6 inches, their growth rate decreases rapidly. It's pretty rare that a clown loach reaches 12 inches long in captivity.

God Bless,
Joshua

Have to agree with this - They are nice fish, however...
I had 2 dwarf blue gouramis, and one of mine developed a lump - maybe tumour upon reading, with medication it lasted a while, but no longer!
So i'm down to 1, and only had it 6months.

As for clown loaches - they do grow big, although at a slow rate - so depends if you're planning on a larger tank at some point!!

I would personally also rule out the giant danios. they will quite easily be the dominant fish in your tank, which won't be good news for some of the smaller fish in the tank,

i keep lotsa of clowns and they take a good few years just to reach 3-4 inches let alone a foot, I've also kep danios and fancy tail guppies together with no probs, i've always found guppies to be very hardy and can look after themselves,
