Hi,

I got into this hobby of aquariums from being entertained by seeing the big fish you see on the youtube channels I mentioned in my other post about my favourite youtube channels, however as I have limited space and I want to make aquariums out of smallish things like drinks dispensers or a see through mannequin, I am wondering are there any small things besides shrimp that typically look scary or unusual? Preferably freshwater ones. Thanks in advance.

Hydra are a bit like jellyfish. Damselfly nymphs are very predatory but they may need more space. Assassin snails like to suck the flesh from theirs algae eating cousins, scary if you are a snail.

my children are small and scary, though im not sure youd want them in your aquarium;)
I feel that. I have 4 little brothers

Maybe hydra as a pet? im interested in biology never seen them in real life.

What do you feed hydra?

What about planarian worm?

Hydra will eat anything small that swims past and they can catch. This includes daphnia, copepods, brineshrimp, baby fish or shrimp.
Where can I find one? I never seen them in the river.

I've had them in my tank in the past and they are very tiny. I could only see them on the glass when the light was on, they looked like a cluster of hair thin threads a few mm long hanging off the glass.

OK well this is not the kinda suggested response I'm after given I'm after scary or weird looking..

Like this little fella.. Mind you, it needs to be big enough to be seen via a high definition Web camera..

I agree, hydra are not at all scary, they are far too small for that :)

Imagine being a baby brineshrimp, hydra would be scary then. Or a 200 foot tall hydra waiting in the river for someone to swim past.
Would you go swimming if there were thousands of 200 foot tall hydra in the local creek?
