Hi everyone!

This is the first time I have really tried to 'aquascape' a tank, and so far I am about 60% happy with how it went, but it is missing something. I am going for an all natural design with bogwood, rocks, stones and real plants. I would love it if you could take a look and give me some suggestions! And incase you were wondering the inhabitants are 7 Cardinals and 3 Guppies. Buying more fish tommorow as I recently moved all these guys from a much smaller tank :)

Here is a pic:

Looks ok to me, just one thing It might just be the picture, but it looks like you have a lot of gas trapped in your sand at the front, run your fingers through the sand gently to release it all.

Looks great so far! Any updated pics? Bogwood or driftwood would look great in that open space where the moss ball is. Would have the added benefit of hiding the intake tube!!

Looks good! Nicely done!

You might want to go for something for a focus point in tank to help with height and depth perhaps.

Some nice roots/branches or large piece of bogwood or mopani would be nice.
Gives the fish something to swim around and hide in if they want to :)

Will look good once plants are established and fill in the tank a bit more in a month or two. :)

It needs more plants, maybe some nice crypts along the front. Well done though.

Don't worry about the bubbles in the sand, things work differently in a planted tank. There's no need to disturb the substrate.

Thanks everyone :)

Ian I totally agree, now the tank has been running for a couple of weeks I will gonna get some crypts tommorow, I think they look awesome! And as everyone said some bogwood/driftwood focal point would be nice, im going to look for some tommorow when I get some more plants. I will upload more pics soon!

Looks pretty nice! I agree with the bogwood, creating a focal point is key to a good aquascape.

Just got some driftwood today, really pleased with it. Also got some Crypt Wendtii, Crypt Undalatus, Pogostemon helferi and some Anubias barteri. Only problem is I come home and notice that all my Cardinals have whitespot! :( Luckily i have seen it early and there is only a couple of spots on each fish. Thanks for the replies everyone

Sorry to hear that!! Good luck treating ur fish! Post some pics once the driftwood and plants are in!

Ahh! Love this tank! Im sorry about your cardinals but when they heal the driftwood uld be waterlogged ans  then they have  a new tpy! Cant wait to see it!

Thanks everyone, as soon as the driftwood is ready and all the fish are better I will upload some pics! At the moment I have just had to put all the plants in and it looks a bit messy but the main priority is their health! I will keep you all updated :)

Looking good, but I would definitely add some more plants and driftwood. The rocks you have are all very similar in size and shape, which makes the whole tank looks somewhat unnatural. The plants don't look very natural too and I personally think you should at least get twice as many of each and possibly some red plants to add to the colours.

Other than that, it's a wonderful tank! Maybe we could get some close up shots of those beautiful guppies? :)

508, I got some red crypts yesterday :) and thanks for the advice by the way! As soon as the driftwood is in I will post updated pics, although I gotta say I still haven't gotten a good pic of the fish individually

Don't lose heart with the tetras, mine got white spot twice in a row ( think I stopped the treatment to soon really) but 9 out of 10 pulled through. It will all be worth it in the end
