Really should not have got that tang!!!! completely wrong fish to get. LFS shoudlnt have even sold it to you having a 29G tank!

Take it back ASAP it will no doubt bring on White spot in your tank from the stress of being in a small environment

yep, agree with Ren about the tang - take it back before it gets white spot

The jewel puffer, nice looking puffer but no where near reef safe!!!! If you want to keep a reef with corals, take it back!

Remember, the lfs may have really nice, helpful staff but are, just trying to sell you stuff and will only tell you what you want to hear  always do you own research first, if in doubt, most reputable lfs will allow you to leave a deposit whilst you go away and check :good:

As Seffie says above, you must really double check everything anyone tells you. Everyone tells you their own opinion and experiences of stuff, and one person hence can be way out in some cases, even if their intentions are good  Also, a lot of LFS staff have a tendency to avoid telling you the poorer traits of a lot of fish...

All the best

oh no

seems i've made the wrong deciosion
but in the lfs we looked in the marine fish guide and it said the puffer is ok with most corals exept sps and i dont have the lighting for them anyway. i bought him on the condition that i could take him back if he ate any coral. as for the tang he is only less than one inch long and is half the size of my clown fish i was going to keep him for a little while then sell him on is he still too small for my 30g reef?

We all make one mistake - we trust some guy down at the lfs, but we don't do it twice :good: take both back, if you want a puffer the only one anywhere near reef safe is the valentini puffer and even he will take your small snails and shrimps(sorry, can't remember your tank size, so would need to check that). But the tang will quickly grow and become stressed, he will then likely get white spot and nobody will touch him :good:

Take them both back and then enjoy researching what you will buy in their place :good:
