Just a quick one. I’ve used API freshwater master test kit for awhile. I’ve questioned the results on many occasions. I’ve just switched over to NTLABS and the results are different. What one would you say is more accurate and reputable in regards to testing water parameters.

NTLABS - NITRATE Levels under 5ppm
API - 20ppm

Your experiences please :)

Nitrate is included in your water quality report. You could try looking it up on your water company's website, then testing your tap water with both testers to see which one agrees with the water company.

Local water around 20ppm

Tested tap water with NTLABS
Tap water - 10-20ppm
Aquarium 5ppm (will change if test again as dosed ferts)

tested tap water for API MASTER
Tap water - 30-40ppm
Aquarium -20-30ppm

the good thing is both results suggest the plants are taking up some of the nitrates. I just wondered if anyone swears by one particular brand for accuracy.
