Aquarium backgrounds...

i have just made a rock background out of the white packing foam (cant spell it but it something like this stirafoam sounds like that anyhow)

you cant usally get it from any store cause all the do is throw it out any way you cut it to size then get a file or rasp and make groves ect i silicone a heap together and made like a rock self hanging out and made a few like cup tye things in it were you could fill it with sand and put in plants ect.

im still in the process of making it but on the final coat of pain also to help seal it while the paint is still wet i will throw some sand on it to really give it the rock look ill make a topic of it when its done !!

For my current, entirely too small tank, I used aluminium foil as the background. I crumpled it up a bit to give it a wrinkled appearance. This gives it a kind of rocky quality and breaks up the light.

For the big tank I am planning, I am making a background out of Styrofoam with PVC pipe caves running though it.
