My girlfriend just sent me a pic of what I believe to be snail eggs, theyre above the water line so it rules out fish. The question is, if she wants them to hatch will she have to remove the snail, will it eat them?

heres a pic

Hi, my mum has had snail babies a few months ago and no the snail wont eat them when they hatch or while they're eggs. But you do have to keep them moist so maybe you could wet a cotton bud and put it on them or just wet it occasionally. When they start to get brittle its when they are getting ready to hatch. They should be fine in the main tank but some fish like clown loaches will probably eat them. You shouldn't need to remove them unless you are putting them on a sponge on top of the water (to keep them moist) or getting rid of them so you do not have more snails. Hope that helped and best of luck.

+1,  keep them moist and eventually the snails will begin falling out of the eggs and into the tank.  Congrats on baby snails!!

In order to keep them moist.... I did the following and had an almost 100% hatching rate..........

I'm in the same boat as well, bought an Apple snail and the first night laid a load of eggs.

Been about 2 weeks now, how long do they take to hatch?

Cheers,
Indy
