I am hopefully going to get some Apistogramma Dwarf Cichlids

1 x Trio of Huallaga
1 x Trio of Norbert 2
1 x Trio of Maulbruter
1 x Trio of Cruzi

These are what are on the list but cant find any pictures or infomation on them... any help would be great thanks.

Hi there,

For the correct names:

Huallaga > Apistogramma baenschi, also previously referred to as Apistogramma sp. Inka (Huallaga is because they are found in the Rio Huallaga drainage system).

Norbert 2 > I would assume is Apistogramma norberti

Maulbruter > Apistogramma sp. Maulbrüter, the only known mouth brooding Apistogramma found so far.

Cruzi > Apistogramma cruzi, this species is very rarely exported from its native Peru. I wouldn't be suprised if it turned out to be Apistogramma eunotus or something similar.

Hope these are all going in seperate tanks as when they start to breed it will be all hell let loose if they are in together. Also if they are going as trios in their own tanks, aim for at least 36"x15" floor space per trio (1m x 2f) to give the females suitable territorial space as none of these are what I would regard as polygamous (multiple females to 1 male) species.

Andrew
