Hi
the question's in the title. What the minimum tank size for Apisto Alacrina?
I'm currently about to set up a 60cm x 30cm x 35cm (H).Was going to plant it. Any good or too small?
Thanks

Stu

how many you planning on keeping? that sort of size would be great for a pair and if you plant it well enough then maybe you can add another female.

its a shame really i just sold my breeding tank for my trio of alacrinas on ebay and i got alacrina fry :)

that's why i was asking (didn't want to spam your thread).Plus have you seen my location?

very close to me :) save posting

have you seen my pics of fry then?

quite often in Brissle.I've seen pics, but don't know much about these Apisto's. Am tempted, but don't want to do anything too impulsive.Haven't even got water in the tank yet

in the process of setting up another planted tank and was starting to think about inhabitants. Only ever kept Bolivians before, current tank has PH 7.6 - Kh 5 - Gh 9. I have got plenty of dry beech leaves too hand though

i use alder cones but my apistos have spawned in 21 degrees celcius and no change to our water ph levels so i think its a load of male cow mess.
i didnt have any exp on keeping apistos now i have cacatuoides, macmasteris and alcarinas i would of had borellis but they were only small when they were added to my tank and dissapeared  im pretty sure who the culprit was. they are so easy to maintain, they just get a bit aggressive when spawning. i could sell you a liitle group and you just see how you get on? you could prob raise them in your planted tank and then just seperate the pairs? :good:

yes a trio would go well in there, yes no probs il contact you when there ready for sale. just being nosy where bouts in brissle you visit?

Sounds like you're getting the bug Stu. I have loads of Alder cones should you want any? Can post you some if you want them?

), and a few posh ones in Clifton

Just cover postage mate as these are also collected... goes for L&C and Stu. Unsure how many you would want though?

No real thoughts on stocking mate, would seem that L&C is more qualified than me to advise on Apisto's. Can't wait to see your substrate though
