API Quickstart and SeaChem Prime?

Prime does a lot of "messing" which is why I do not use it and do not recommend it, except if you have ammonia, nitrite or nitrate (minimal) in the source (tap) water. If you don't have one of these in the tap water, there are better conditioners. The API Tap Water Conditioner is in my view the best available, if chlorine/chloramine is all you need deal with in the tap water.

Prime should not be added to a tank like a treatment; it should only be added to the new water at a water change. If there is ammonia or nitrite in the water, water changes are the way to get them down.
