Anyone Know Anything About Jad Aquariums/light Fittings?

Just aquired a JAD LJ-300 Aquarium (35L) second hand and got it home and light doesn't work.

Tried changing fuse first - NO CHANGE

So I'm assuming the bulb has gone, it had a Tesco Screw in Energy Saving bulb in it! But the Spec inside the lid of the tank says 11w.

I really hope the bulb has gone and not something electrical inside the lid or I will not be happy! Will take it back to them and get me money back!

I didn't know you could use general household bulbs in tanks, a while ago my LFS said that some bulbs in tanks do look like energy saving ones but they are actually tank lights.............WELL the one in this tank has TESCO stamped on it.....maybe the cause of the problem ...who knows?

Please help!

Never heard of it otherwise. Main difference between LFS bulbs and supermarket: LFS ones typically advertise length, wattage, and colour temperature. Supermarket ones often miss the last bit.

been on that site already, mine is same but silver version, do u reckon I could just go into supermarket and buy another 11w energy saving bulb like the one that was in then, when I phoned the ppl it came from they said the lights kept 'going' in it, hence why I thought they didn't have right bulb in....If I can will be going shop asap and if it don't work they can have it back!
