I've been looking everywhere for people who have succesfully bred Imbellis, Smaragdina and Banpawe in the UK as im looking for a few fry of each. If you've had a spawn in the UK recently please tell me and ill sort something out :)

Dont want to appear ignorant but what sort of bettas are these? ps did it snow in Lowestoft?

Species of betta thet haven't been selectively bred for colour, long finnage, aggression etc. Wild types :) Bettaman normally has imbellis, if no one else has any, maybe try the UK branch of IBC (if there is one...) or the... can't remember the proper name, something like the british anbatid association.

They're "wild type bettas" Liz :) Just google for photos ;)

Goldfishbowl, Wholesale Tropicals often sell a large selection of Wild type bettas - they do postage from their shop in London.

Or else try Bettaman :good:

You can find their stocklist on www.tropicalfishfinder.co.uk , but best to phone and check what they've got in stock. You could also ask a shop that can order in part boxes of fish to order you in things, much wider selection normally.

No website of their own, but they do have this listing - far better to ring them up and check what they have in or what they will be getting in. They usually also have loads of cheap stunning Crowtails - cheap as in around £4 each or so (though I haven't checked prices recently).

Hmm... do many 13 year olds phone up asking for fish :p but i have checked... No banpawes :( but imbellis are there so i may jus get a pair of them. Ill email them.

Sorry for my ignorance, but are the "wild type" any more friendly in a community tank?

IMO, no they are not they should really be kept in species tanks only.. they also require different water conditions
