Well, we were out tonight, and the impulsive newbies that we are, we bought a blue lobster (crayfish) and 2 Columbian Sharks. We have a 40 Gal aquarium, with 2 gouramis, 3 platy's, 3 guppies, and now the sharks and lobster. After coming home and researching on the internet, I've realized that the sharks will require brackish, and later salt water, and that they will grow A LOT, and will eat the smaller fish when they are bigger. So, I have a dilemma. I'm thinking we may give/sell the sharks when they have grown a bit. I'm not really worried about the lobster. I know it will grow, but I think it will be alright where it is.

SO, what would you do with the sharks?

take them back and complain that the pet store didnt inform you that they were brackish, the crayfish will also catch and eat most of your fish.

One of the worst cases of mis-sold fish i've ever seen. As you know the shark catfish need brackish water, and that means they need it now not in a few months time, and the crayfish will catch and eat any fish that come within range of its claws, these animals need a tank to themselves and in 99% of cases are not community safe at all.

Yup, I picked up some Neons, and the crayfish has eaten one...my hubby saw it eating the fish this morning. I'm taking the sharks and the crayfish back tonight.
