You can probably tell I am bored since I am hitting the gen chat board, which is unlike me.

Wondered if there is any rock / metal / alt music fans that come on here?

Not many of my small circle of friends are into the same sort of music as me :(

I am going to see Iron Maiden at Newcastle in July - Anyone else with tickets? I also saw Paramore earlier in the year at Newcastle too :) My last gig before that was Disturbed in about 2006 since I never have anyone to go with :(

Can't say I've ever listened to Iron Maiden but I love Alice Cooper other favourites include Guns and Roses, Metalica, Mega Death, Offspring, Linkin Park, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Green Day, Roger Waters, and Meatloaf. Its actually a bit of a comp between my husand and I over who has more CD's him with Meatloaf and me with Alice. Sorry to say I don't listen to much new bands (expect what I might happen to hear on the radio during work when I'm in the truck - rarely), but even then the local station seems to program in only a few songs and play them to death for the entire week

, really annoying if its a song you can't stand! I did make my own CD of music/ songs that I liked and put that in the truck but the guys who also use the truck whimped out and managed to "lose" it

Now the hard question to answer is what is the least likely music that a person likes???
I'll kick it off with Eric Boogle, Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver.

OOOps how could I forget The Angels? who I got to see in Rockhampton and did a great show.

This week, I have been mostly listening to Bat out of Hell Re-Vamped :)

Meat Loaf is awesome :) I am almost 28 and therefore mostly into newer stuff (well, I guess what I would call newer, I am sure the kids are all listening to bands I have never heard of) like Slipknot / System / Rise Against / Drowning Pool / Disturbed - Those kind of sounds, but I do really have a fairly big range of tastes. E.G on my iTunes (other players are available!) I have artists like Phil Collins, Tinie Tempah, PintShotRiot, Kaisers, Guns n Roses, Dire Straits. I even have some space tech CDs (altho a bit dusty).

I guess metal and rock is my main interest but my mood can take me to other places. I love music in general - I can't imagine a world with no music. How dull it would be!

From your list I have every Offspring album, every Linkin Park album, most Green Day albums (Dookie was the first ever CD album I purchased!).

As far as my music I am least likely to listen to...err.....anything "R'n'B".

Jazz and R'n'B would have to be the two music tastes I am gaurenteed to turn off when they come on the radio.

Also forgot about Cher, Phil Colins and Roxette as other artists I'll listen to depending on the mood, while Pink Floyd The Wall is immoratal!

Yes. Although it's been a long time since I saw anyone live. Mostly I used to see bands at a rock club that my hubby and I worked at when we first met. I even got a Biohazard T shirt given to me for free by the band because I did some photocopying for them. It's been many years though. *nostalgia moment*

I shall be seeing quite a few of your favourites this year then as will be at download festival and also sonisphere UK.

Download has Def Leppard. Alice Cooper, Linkin Park + many more Download Lineup and Sonisphere has Metallica and Megadeath, both festivals still have a few more bands to announce but it should be good fun.

I was going to go to Sonisphere, but I cant afford the ticket :( Its quite far for me to go too as I live in County Durham.

Maybe one day I might be able to afford to go! Having said that its the best part of £50 for Iron Maiden! Shocking!

Genre's of music guaranteed to make me want to stuff my ears with cotton wall are, rap and hip-hop as well as the aforementioned R'n'B. And soul to me was Otis Reading, Sam and Dave and Aretha Franklin.

Thank God for DAB radio and Planet Rock!

Foo Fighters, Muse, Brand New, Guns and Roses, Them Crooked Vultures, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman

I saw them at sonisphere last year and they were great and put on a good show and did about 3-4 encore songs, it was really good value as it was £70 for 2 days + camping and saw quite a few other bands so I think I easily got my money's worth, especially as I got to see comedians and lesser bands that have started to make a name for themselves.

Definantly can't afford to see that show! And most big name bands that do eventually make it to Australia only play the big capitals like Sydney and Melbourne and even then only a couple of night. Sometimes it really sucks living in regional QLD

But most of the time its great I get to see a lot of nature that city dwellers can only dream about....not many people can boast about seeing a platypus living in the CBD of a major town, or catch Barramundi in the same river.

i am rather random with my music, this side of things freaks my boyfriend out quite alot  i like:

Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, Meatloaf, Metallica, Slipknot, Def Leopard, 30 Seconds To Mars, the list could go on forever

Limp bizkit, prodigy, pendulum, White zombie, korn, muse, killers, p.o.d, Gary numan (his later stuff) and................ahem!..Duran Duran!.........What can I say!, I'm an 80's baby! Lol
