Any Idea What This Is On My Peppered Cory?

You can see the yellow patches on some of these and also the one with the missing eye in the third photo, there's also as you can see poor fins including there broken blue lines :( The last 2 photos are of the same fish.

my friend had silver dollars with the same problem you have with the corys. I think it could be ammonia poisoning.

I would go and do a 50% water change in the main tank.

well when i found them i did a 30% water change because i tested ammonia and it was at 0.25-0.5ppm. Now it is at 0ppm. i also did a search for another neon i suspect to be dead as i only make a head count of 4 when there should be 5 but i cannot find it anywhere! :/ so i will be keeping an eye on the ammonia.

Bless Him. R.I.P.
Are you sure its not whitespot but velvet.

There is definitely whitespot in the tank that needs treatment because it started with my black neon then i noticed the neon tetras had some too but they were the only ones in the main tank, i didnt think that many neons had the whitespot from looking and i'm surprised how many have died, none of them seem to have the white spot of the pics either is it possible they have velvet and the others don't. Its hard to tell from the remaining ones in the tank if they have velvet because of their natural sheen.

Going to do another water change today and add some plants that will be washed. My ammonia is up again today so gonna rummage around for the dead fish i suspect is in there and also clean the filter just to be safe. :)

Yellow patches can be anything from velvet, columnaris. Yellow sheen on the blue area can be ntd. But usually the red stripe area bleaches out first with ntd.

well on a different note, my peppered cory has no red mark now and seems a lot better would i be alright to put him back in the tank, I've done a very large water change in the tank now? I have him in a jug clipped to my main tank ready. Plus i have noticed my platy in the main tank has pop eye so added a bit of melafix with the myxazin in there cause it says it can be used for that, but haven't added the pimafix in case i pump him with to many drugs.

PS/ i still haven't found that neon i suspect to be dead so i have either miss counted the neons left or its been eaten!

what's ntd?

how are the fish now?

my peppered cory has lost its redness now so hoping to return him back into the main tank. Platy in hospital tank has pop-eye and the neons in my main tank look okay apart from one which li've removed and put into the hospital tank.

what temperature are you keeping your peppered cory(s) at? They should be kept at 18-20°C and no higher than 23°C :good:

Well atm the main tank is at 30°C for white spot treatment :) A good water temperature can range from 70 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit which is about 22 -27°C, usually i keep my tank at about 25°C. I got this information from here on the fish species place :) peppered corys

that's cool. it's just the peppered corys in particular should be kept cooler than most other corys and higher temperatures will simply shorten their life span.
