Micro rasboros would be nice, or a small community of all male Guppies or Endlers. Or seeing as you like bettas then a group of females would be ok in ten gals if you don't want to use it for a male or two. If you mature the filter for a while longer than usual ( a good 3 months I'd say ) , then a dwarf gourami may do well with some pygmy cories ( but DG's can be prone to being delicate and getting bacterial diseases if you don't watch them so really mature it!! ) .

I'd ask my local tip but my mother would have the spaz to end all spazzes if I brought another tank home!!!

Lol just ahd a really good old clean and looks lovely. Well i'm either gonna have to wait till christmas to set it up as i will ahve no money left after setting up the q tank. Or i could earn some money bit by bit. Could you think of what i would need altogether for the tank and also recommendations on filters and what wattage heater? Will post up some pics and tell you the capacity in a min. BTW its a tetra make. Already has an airpump 2 plants background (blue) light and lid.

Honey - i don't like guppies anymore as mine all died on me. I'd prefer two males as i don't like the girls. And tbh i can't wait 3 months for a DG plus i dnt like them as 2 died on me once.

So here the questions.
What will i need?
Recommendations for heaters and filters?
Is tetra a goodish make?
What wattage heater?
Anyone selling any heaters or filters suitable for a tank like this with reasonable prices and posting.

Lucy

I have this tank, as said before its a aquaart tetra tank 60L. I bought mine with the filter and heater in a package, seems to be going well at the moment although I'm not sure if I need an oxygen pump...

if the room is pretty warm then a 50w might do, otherwise, you need to aim for 1w per litre as a guideline

to keep it cheap an internal will do, i like the fluval brand, they have just released a 'u' series. otherwise there is an external, thisine is decent: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...roducts_id=1505

tetra produce some good stuff, especially the airpumps, they are really powerful. just the light like i said before, sometimes it they just go!

how about a shoal of 15 of something? like harlequins or cardinals. or you could have it as a shrimp tank...too many options lol

Well i thinking 2 male bettas now. Divided. Should i have like 2 elite stingray sponge filter or something?
So will i really only need a substrate, filter and heater and thermoter?
Also will a 15kg bag of argos play sand be enough for it to fill the bottom.
Usually 18oc in my room so would a 50 watt do?

Oh and would a betta and harlequims mix?

I think the Harelquin rasboros and the betta might have problems really. And ten gals isn't enough floorspace for normal cories, plus they need to be in bigger groups than that ( which is why ten gals isn't enough space ) You could have the male betta and 8 or so pygmy cories ( they are very small fish, just under an inch ) . That would work ( add the other fish before the betta to help try and prevent any aggression from the betta, he may see any other fish coming into HIS space as a threat and attack )

OKay my dad said i might as well set up this one then the q tank at christmas.

What would i need?
which filters and heaters can you link me to an ebay apge that would do?
What would you do with the betta . divide into to or put something with it - if so what would u do.

Yes that would be ok. I personally would not divide it and have the single betta with the pygmy cories and lots and lots of plants. If you do have a betta then you will need to turn the flow on the Fluval right down, and you may need to modify the nozzle where the water comes out to deflect the flow. Or try and add a spray bar onto it and turn the pipe or tube where the holes are so they face the back wall of the tank. That way the betta wouldn't be blasted around the tank in the flow.

I have that tank and it's not 10 gallons it's 6 gallons, so you may be overstocking it.

That looks excellent. No it won't suck up any sand unless you disturb the sand and it blows up past the intake. Even then not much would be sucked in anyway. I see it comes with a flow adjust and an optional spray bar. That's great.

Ah .
If it's 6 gals then only the betta and nothing else at all in there. you would also need a smaller filter like a small HOB or one of those little stingrays.

Its not its 11 gals i measured simensions and used aqaurium calculator. Okay i'll get that a 50 watt heater glass thermoter argos play sand silk planst. Also should i ditch the plastic plants as might rip the bettas fins.?
