Some of you may have heard about the above link - but for those of you who haven't, here's a brief description.

They're bags... with Bettas in them. Sure they tell you how to properly look after the fish but lots of people would ignore that and leave the poor thing in there 24/7 and when the pellets run out start feeding him flakes. And think of the stress the poor fish must go through! temperature changes, constantly being moved around.. not a fun life.

I cannot believe how stupid people can be. I checked out the site and was amazed at how they try to justify selling fish in handbags!!!! I just had to send them my view on what they are doing.
Thanks for at least trying to make more people aware of what is going on hopefully their local humane society will get to hear of it and get it shut down.

I can't believe this is for real. How could anyone buy into the whole : they actually don't move around bit".
"stretch his fins??" what??
"don't take him out to often"

grrrrrrrrrr is all I have to say..grrrrrr

I have emailed him this:

This is the cruelist thing I have ever seen.

I am going to be reporting you to the British RSPCA as well as forwarding your details to the american equivilent.

I hope you get sent to prison for animal cruelty and they lock you in a tiny cell with no food and no company.

Ben Stinson

(England)

I have already notified the RSPCA and they are going to investigate it and get in contact with the American Animal Protection Bureau.

I think this is the sickest form of fish cruely I have seen to date, even worse than the Fish in a vase things.

Ben

ya....heres the other topic about this. i think nearly everyone who posted emailes this person.

bags made by SOB's who don't give a shnit about animals.

Due to their human like lung, Betta Fish are able to live in a filter-less environment and are completely content in small areas.
thats a bunch of bull. content in a tiny container? ha!

Every safety precaution has been considered during the testing of our product line to ensure the comfort, safety and quality of life for your Betta fish.
if the thing doesn't leak, then how the hell is air getting to the thing? precautions my butt. people usually roughly set their bags down and roughly pick it up....thats definatly not comfortable, or safe.

Although the miniature fish tank is more than 5 times larger than that of the average pet shop container,
if that's true, then how the heck would you carry the thing around all day? fish tanks are heavy....you gotta be a strong person to casually carry that THING around.

we do recommend keeping a larger bowl at home for your fish so he can occassionally stretch his fins when not on the go in his Bubble Gear bag!
if it's not large enough for his to stretch his fins out in, then it's not large enough for him to be "content".

Betta fish are known to live for several years and there is no reason they won't live just as long in the Bubble Gear bags.
i think i've listed enough reasons already....

The Bubble Light illumination accessory is offered to light up the tank at night or in dark environments such as a night club or restaurant.
places way to dangerous to be taking a fish...waay to stressful.

ok, i'm finally done talking!
