I have a 55 gallon tank with about 2.4 wpg but my bulbs are 50% 10,000K and 50% 460nm actinic. Im wondering if I change the bulbs to only 6700k will it make my plants healthier? The reason Im asking is because my amazon swords are dying off, I been using the EI method but its not working......

Depends, do you have reflectors? What type of lights are they? (T5,T8, power compact T5s?)

What signs of deficiency are the swords actually showing? What kind of filtration/water flow does the tank have? CO2?

The lights may not be bad for the plants, and could be more than enough.

Changing the bulbs could potentially make the problem worse if it's some other sort of deficiency.

The lighting is a 48 inch power compact light, my filtration system is a 405 fluval canister filter. I inject co2 and is set up with a co2 reactor powered by a Hagen 50 powerhead. I recently added spray bar and ran it along the back/bottom of the tank. The spray bar is connected to the diffuser so it only works when the timer for the co2 comes on. The amazon swords leaves are not fully green they look worse than the pics in the prunning guide in the plant section ( great guide by the way) and there's holes in the leaves. I'm thinking I'm adding enough co2 because the drop checker is limegreen 2 hours befor the co2 shuts off.

Are the leaves yellow at all?

What other plants do you have in there and how are they doing?

Is your water hard or soft and what chemicals are you dosing?

Sorry for the super late reply!!!! My KH reading is 125.3 ppm or 7 drops and my GH reading is 143.2 ppm or 8 drops. I also have Dwarf Sags, Crypt Balansae, Java moss, Java fern, bannana plant and Ludwigia repens. Im dosing 1/2 table spoon of potassium nitrate, 1/4 table spoon of mono potassium phosphate, 1/4 table spoon of potassium sulfate and 15ml of tropica plant nutrition (not the +). Like i said i been dosing using the schedule on the EI. I posted some pics so you can be the judge on how well the plants are doing.
