Another Mantis

Everything saltwater is so much more interesting then fresh.. Even the hermit crabs that are meant for food are cooler looking then all the fish I have..

I'm jealous :good:

Salt is salt, fresh is fresh, one is not better than the other. Just different.

Cute mantis Synirr.

Mmm... I could probably argue with that.

Nice 'shrimp' Synirr... planning on getting more? Also, what lighting does your tank use? I would be interested in getting an anemone like the one you have.

is this one female? and the other one is male?
are you going to try and breed them?
that would be good lol
Yes, they are opposite sex, but not the same species or anywhere near the same size... If I put Rose with Stagger, he would eat her, without question . She'll never get as big as he is, by a longshot. I am thinking of ordering a male havanensis in the future to attempt breeding, though. Raising the offspring would be damn near impossible, but an interesting project I bet. Could you imagine how cute babies would be ???

Amen :)

Not really "planning" on it, but it will probably happen, lol. The lighting on the 20g, where the anemone is, is just your basic single strip Aqualight, 96W 50/50. Too much lighting can lead to shellrot, especially with large male O. scyllarus. I've got a Dual Satellite fixture on the 5g with 2x18W bulbs.
