with some breeds of fish this is a way of fighting and with some it is a way of kissing are they males or females they look like 2 females am I right?

That's just some of their normal pre-spawning behaviour, angel lover. What ever happened with the female bullying the male, anyway?

hi aquanut!!!!i moved all the plants around and then did a water change and that seemed to work fine,she hasnt really been picking on him much but they have been doing alot of "kissing" so i dont know if that is still fighting

That is pretty cute, my o.b. peacocoks sometimes get into mouth fights, only problem is that they almost 6" big and they are both pretty buff and they make a heck of alot of noise (splashing and hitting the top of the tank)

Never hurt each other though.

It is sort of an aggressive activity, but it's pretty normal for spawning angels, I think angel lover. Mine seem to do stuff like that for a few days before the real spawning dancing begins. I'm really happy that you managed to work things out without having to move all your other fish around!!

With cichlids it's normal behaviour for some to lip lock like this so the female can be sure that the male is tough enough and worth breeding with.

hmm thats very interesting smb...you just know everything about cichlids dont you?? ..thanks aquanut im glad that worked out too its alot of hassle moving them around and i still havent been able to part with the babies.they are so lovely im working on a pic of them but its hard to get a good one because they are still small but a couple of them have amazing fins

Youll know when they are about to lay eggs. Theyll start cleaning off a plant leaf or the uptake tube on your filter. Once you see that then in a couple days youll have eggs.

You sure theyre both males Ken? The one on the right looks like its gravid. Could just be the lighting though. Great looking fish by the way.

The fish to the right is a discus, they are very beautiful and mild mannered fish.....
