My fathers angelfish is getting worse. I'll post photos of the progression of whatever this is, with the last photo taken from this evening. I really need help diagnosing what this is as I'm at a loss. Water tests come back normal, even took to my LFS and nothing read wrong. Water changes and temperature have been maintained. No new occupants/plants/decor have been added. She started out with what looked like a blister to the actual tissue beginning to spit/recede and then be covered in this fuzz. Was originally treating with kanaplex with partial water changes before each new dose and she only worsened. My father took the advice if someone at the LFS and is using api e.m. erythromycin thinking its mouthrot or a bacterial infection. I'm not sure as I wasn't there for the conversation. Her final dose of medicine is tomorrow. It seems the fuzz seems to recede then flare up from the morning to the evening but the wound beneath I don't think is getting better. I should mention that her tank mates are cories and a baby BN pleco not even 1/10th her size.

Ouch, sorry... This looks fungal... @Colin_T might be able to help...

Fungus on top of bacterial.

Fungus can be dealt with by salt (2 heaped tablespoons per 20 litres of water). Keep salt in water for 2 weeks. The fish will be fine with that level of salt.

The anti-biotics should have dealt with the bacterial infection if they were going to, there should have at least been some improvement after 1 or 2 doses.

You can use salt with anti-biotics.

Make sure the tank is spotless before using any medication (huge water change, complete gravel clean, clean filter, wipe glass down). And increase aeration.

The api requires partial 25% water changes between doses. He's only been dropping small pinches at night for the cories since the angel cant eat. Aeration is a go as the filter is a sponge filter but I can lend a bubble wand for increased aeration. I bought salt for him but have yet to use it as I wasn't sure if it was ok. It's aquarium salt from petsmart. Would a fungal infection split the tissue of her mouth and below the lower jaw? When the fuzz recedes I can almost see something paleish pink where her marble pattern breaks. I assume this to be muscle/tissue below the scales. I've had fish with fungus (not as severe as this) and have never had it injure them as aggressively as this. I still have your instructions for the salt on a a previous post. Should we medicate with an anti-fungal as well?

Lend him another air pump and air stone to maximise the oxygen in the water. But throw the air line and air stone away after use. You don't want to possibly cross contaminate your tanks.

Don't use an anti-fungal as well. Just add some salt with the anti-biotics.
Aquarium salt is fine, it's just rock salt packaged up to sell at pet shops.

The tank needs to be really clean when using anti-biotics. And preferably use them in a bare glass tank with a few plastic plants for shelter.

The fungus is not what damaged the bottom jaw, that is from the bacterial infection (the red inflamed area is where the bacteria are). The fungus is the white fluffy stuff that has infected the damaged tissue after the bacteria got in and opened it up.
