Hey Everyone,
I've been caring for several bettas, and a community tank for approx 2 years now. I have 3 male bettas, all residing in their own, 5 gallon, planted tank. I also have 3 adult panda cories, of whom, I owned for approximately 2 years. They live with Julii and False Julii Cories, Cardinal tetras, male guppies, glofish, and several zebra nertites in a mature planted tank. (Ammonia, Nitrites are 0, Nitrates hover between 0 and 5 PPM.) I dont have to do water changes, just simply add water once a week. Once a month though, I do a 30% water change in 4 of my tanks. Okay, enough back ground. LOL.

Today... I woke to an amazing discovery! A little baby Panda Cory! Hes made it through the odds. I never intended to breed my fish. I keep them for my enjoyment. Today, I found a little newbie, that I didnt add! I have no idea how old he is. My guestimation is anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. I will post some pictures, and any ideas would be great. He is approximately 5/8ths of an inch long. He looks like a miniature adult, except his pale color is much more translucent then the adults!

So... Is there anything I need to do special, to help this little one survive?

If the images dont work, here is alink to the FB album, I posted the pics to! FB Album of baby cory!

Panda cories are quite sensitive, as long as you give him a well diet, lots of free swimming space, and lots of places to retreat to, and hide in, then he should do fairly well, and grow to a healthy full sized adult
Good luck with your new fry!
PS, lol. I saw you at this same exact thread on another forum I'm on

looks 7 weeks old, same size and color as six of my pandas...will take pix tonight
(the two in my large tank, at bottom of my thread, are a bit older and are already yellow)

mine are eating hikari mini wafers and nibbling on algae wafers, even tackle live black worms...i.e. adult food

if they've survived this long...they'll be fine

Haha, yes well, I've learned while there are great people on these forums, there are also wrong ones. I've learned to take everything with a grain of salt. And throw in the fact people might scream at me because of the substrate I use, or I don't do larger water changes more frequently, etc. I like to get various opinions before settling lol. I figure if They lived this long, Im doing something right!

And I kinda figured if the Little guy made it this far, Well.. he's eating, no? Lol. I feed my cories and their tank mates a mix of micro pellets, flakes, and for the bottom feeders shrimp pellets and algae wafers. The little one, keeps hiding in the top of a double cave like structure, or under neath the roots of a nAnubias nana (its floating some but roots are mostly buried. Im so excited by the little one! Even if he's an opps. He did get his name today, "Kipper"
