An interesting question/debate...

The weight of a persons body is 0 at the very center of the earth.
But the person would still have mass. Ie if you weighed 200 lbs on the surface you would weight 0 lbs at the center, but if you had a mass of 100kg you would still have a mass of 100kg at the center.

At the geometric center of the earth you would actually weight a small amount due to gravity from the moon and sun. These forces are not balanced at the center of the earth.

Anyone who has spent a long time on the ocean has seen evidence of the curvature of the earth. The tops of ships and islands always appear first and as you get closer the lower sections become visible.

Some humorous thoughts along a similar vein:
https://xkcd.com/913/ 30 million PSI at mantle, would need some pretty strong well casing.

I love all these equations, that everyone is quoting, how do you know any of them are true? What do you know about the earth being flat or round or gravity that you haven't been taught by someone else? Think of only your experiences on earth, not what you have been taught, then what are your conclusions about this thread?

This is just a fun thing to think about... I'm not taking it seriously. Just a fun little chat

As an example, along with basic geometry, GPS clocks are adjusted for relativistic effects, without which most of us would be lost.

I agree, but you think of things differently if you take away everything you have been taught. That is my point.
It's funny you say that... If we take away everything we have been taught we would be mindless. BUT, we are not "taught" by others, our ears hear things that teach us things, and our eyes teach us things with sight, so does smell and touch. So by taking away everything we have been "taught" you are also saying to take away even what we have learned ourselves.

I think you took that statement I made way to literally

No, they didn't. I've seen 2 Lunar Eclipse's with my own eyes.
I was in the Peru in the 1990's. At the foothills of the Andes. There was a Solar eclipse, the native tribes people thought that the world was going to end. They prayed to the gods to save them, their prays were appreciated by the gods and the world wasn't destroyed.

So you believe the earth is flat because you saw a native tribe praying to their gods and the earth wasn't somehow magically destroyed? Interesting...
