An interesting question/debate...

I mean it... It does... BUT, the gravitational pull/push would be different at the center. Once there is a hole dug through, you'd only be crushed from the sides that the holes are on
Does the gravitational force increase as you get closer to the center of the earth? It doesn't decrease as you rise above the earth - until you reach space and become weightless. That happens suddenly, not in increments, right?
Just wondering 🤔

Gravitational force above the earth decreases as R^2 (R * R), where R is the distance from the center of mass between the two objects.

You are never weightless, unless you are infinitely far away from any mass. In orbit, you are simply continuously falling, but are moving so fast that the earth drops away as fast as you are falling.

I figured it had to be more complicated than I imagined. 😊

Do people actually believe that the earth is flat? Do you realize how ignorant you have to be to believe that. :rofl:
How do you know it isn't flat? The only reason you know it isn't flat is because people have told you it isn't, what if those people are lying to you?

Be careful about how rude you are about people who believe the earth is flat.

Remember a lot of the indigenous people will believe this, and some of those people will be collecting fish from their water ways for your tanks. Just because you have been told the world is round not everyone has been taught the same things, it doesn't make them ignorant, it just means they have been taught differently.

Not too complicated the Force (F) is

F = (G * m1 * m2) / (r^2)

G = Gravitation constatnt
m1,m2 = mass of each object
r = distance between the objects

Easy peasy

So, my brain just got a headache from me thinking about this wayyy too much... Ok, lets start off by noting the very obvious, (unless you are a flat-earther) the earth is a sphere and there is gravity all around the earth helping to keep earth in its place. Now, lets say one person (just for this debate) could actually dig all the way through the earth straight down. Would he/she be able to just walk out of the hole like it was a cave OR would he/she fall backwards? Or the other option, would gravity push to the center of the hole causing an implosion of the earth.

Just a thought...
i was legit contemplating this last week

I apologize if you found my comments rude. It was not my intention.
My reply was referring specifically to the video posters who's behavior I found disturbing. I did not call them ignorant.
I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions and the right to passionately defend that opinion.
But attacking and intimidating others by screaming in their faces, pushing, hitting, threatening and verbally abusing them, just because they have opposing opinions is - to me - outrageous behavior.
Just my 2 cents
